Monsoons make a great time for a trekking trip to Sakaleshpur. The region is well known for its forest, water falls, hilly terrain, and wildlife.
This area is on the periphery of Coorg and South Canara district and lies in Hassan District. The Bisle reserve forest here is very popular for its vegetation. The forest is the continuation towards Doddabetta and Pushpagiri in Coorg and Kumaraparvatha in South Canara district.
At the start of the Ghats, we will pass through the “Manjurabad Fort” which has picturesque valleys and forest views from the top. During the Moghuls time, it used to be placed for storing granary. Sakaleshpur is famous for its Coffee estates, pepper plantations, Paddy cultivations and Arecanuts.
