Details of the Upper Rock Walking Tour
The duration of this Tour will be in the region of 2 to 3 hours and we proceed at a leisurely pace which is set by the participants.
There will be numerous photo opportunities along the route. You will get the chance to see some stunning views and many of the historical military sites that are found in the Upper Rock.
I can take you to places that you would not usually visit if you go up by taxi or mini bus and I guarantee that you will always see some of Gibraltar’s world famous Monkeys.
I specialise in small groups which allows me to alter the length of the tour, extend the time we spend in one place, or even amend the start time if and when this is requested. However because I can be flexible I request that you always book.
The paths along the Upper Rock can be a little uneven therefore we recommend you wear suitable shoes and that you also bring along a bottle of water, because it can get quite hot in the summer months.
The meeting place for the Tour will be at the bottom of Library Ramp, across from the front entrance of the Elliot Hotel which is in the centre of the City.
From here we proceed to the Upper Rock Nature Reserve where you will be required to purchase an entrance ticket. The current price to enter the Nature Reserve is £5.00 and you can pay in Euro’s if you prefer.
The attractions visited will include
Devil’s Gap Battery
The Genoese Battery
The Apes Den
The Windsor Bridge
The Queens Lookout
St Michaels Cave
The Med Steps
The Sky Walkway
The Top of the Charles V Steps
The Cable Car Top Station
The Siege Tunnels
The City Under Siege Exhibition
The Moorish Castle
(Please note that we will usually not be entering any of the attractions, however if you would like to do please message me so this can be arranged. The current price to enter the Nature Reserve and all the attractions is an extra £7.00 and you can pay in Euro’s if you prefer).
The Tour will end back in the centre of the Town.
