Route and information about the Upper Rock Walking Tour
The duration of this Tour will be in the region of 2 to 3 hours and we proceed at a leisurely pace which is set by the participants. There will however always be numerous photo opportunities along the route.
I specialise in small groups which allows me to alter the length of the tour, or extend the time we spend in one place, if and when requested.
The paths along the Upper Rock can be a little uneven therefore we recommend you wear suitable shoes and that you also bring along a bottle of water, because it can get quite hot in the Summer.
The meeting place for the Tour will be at the bottom of Library Ramp, across from the front entrance of the Elliot Hotel which is in the centre of the City.
From here we proceed up Library Ramp and Devils Gap Steps, before proceeding up the footpath from the Town. At the top of the footpath we will enter the Upper Rock Nature Reserve where you will be required to purchase a Nature Reserve entrance ticket.
The current price to enter the Nature Reserve is £5.00.
The attractions visited will include
Devil’s Gap Battery
The Genoese Battery
The Apes Den
The Windsor Bridge
The Queens Lookout
St Michaels Cave
The Med Steps
The Sky Walkway
The Top of the Charles V Steps
The Cable Car Top Station
The Siege Tunnels
The City Under Siege Exhibition
The Moorish Castle
(Please note that we will usually not be entering any of the attractions, however if you would like to do please message me so this can be arranged. The current price to enter the Nature Reserve and all the attractions is £12.00)
The Tour will end back in the centre of the Town.
